New Zealand domestic check-in
You have three ways to check in
What time do I need to check in?
We recommend leaving for the airport with plenty of time to spare. With the extra steps to check in at the airport, you may experience queues at check-in or security, or you might be delayed on the way. Remember that these are closing times and they include dropping your bags off if you have them.
You'll receive an email or app notification 24 hours before your flight's scheduled departure letting you know that you can check in online. Online check-in closes 30 minutes before your flight departs.
When you've completed check-in, we'll email you your boarding passes. When you enter the lounge or board your aircraft, we can scan them from your mobile. All New Zealand airports accept electronic boarding passes.
Check in at the airport
When you arrive at the airport, you can check-in at the self-serve kiosks, or we can help you at the check-in desk.
At the kiosk you can choose your seat and print the boarding passes and bag tags. Attach the labels to your bags and take them to the bag drop.
You can use self-serve kiosks if you're flying from:
- Auckland, Hamilton, Napier, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Rotorua, Tauranga, Wellington
- Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill, Nelson, Queenstown
