Travelling safely during COVID-19

- At Alert Level 1: travelling between regions is permitted.
Please check the NZ Govt site for more information about Alert Systems and travel restrictions. Please do not travel if you feel sick or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
If you no longer wish to travel, we will credit you the full value of your flight through to 30 June 2021 for NZ domestic flights. Opt-in for a credit online.
Here's everything you need to know about domestic travel during the current Alert Levels.
Physical distancing is still recommended at the airport and while boarding at Alert Level 1. Where possible we will allocate additional space to support physical distancing on board. We recommend checking in online or via the Air NZ mobile app before heading to the airport.
All passengers are required to wear a face-covering in the airport and on all Air New Zealand operated flights. Passengers are welcome to wear their own face-covering and we will continue to make masks available. Please check the government website before you travel to make sure your face covering is fit for purpose.
We are taking extra steps to ensure all our aircraft, lounges, and airports are frequently cleaned. We are regularly cleaning our aircraft with antiviral products, approved for use by aircraft manufacturers and by the World Health Organisation. Hand sanitiser is readily available on board all aircraft for customer and crew use. Face masks are also available on board for those who do not have one.
